About us

A family business,
rooted in good hope.

Boa Esperanca Group was founded in 2023 by three siblings. The name comes with a story that runs from East Africa to the Aegean to London.

"Boa Esperanca means good hope in Portuguese. It was the name our grandparents gave to their farm in Mozambique, and later to their home in Milos. We carried it into everything we now build."

The story

Where we come from.

Three continents. Four generations. One name.

Our grandparents werePavlo and Sophia were born in Mozambique, then a Portuguese colony on the East African coast, as children of Greek migrants who'd arrived from Milos and Kasos in the 1890s. After they married, they inherited a farm and grew fresh produce there for decades. They named the home Boa Esperanca: good hope in Portuguese.

In 1974, amid the political upheaval, they were forced to leave and moved to Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe. They lost a lot but kept the language, the church, the food, and every summer they went back together to the family island of Milos.

When they were finally able to buy land on the island, they built a home there for the family to gather and named it Boa Esperanca a second time. That home is now Villa Boa Esperanca, restored and opened up by their grandchildren.

The group was started in 2023 to bring the same care our grandparents put into their homes into the businesses we now run. The name reminds us of where we started.

What we stand for

How we work.

01

Family first

We're not a company with family branding bolted on. We're a family. That shapes how we treat villa guests and how we build the app.

02

Quality over volume

Fewer things, done properly. The villa hosts one set of guests at a time. EveryPound launches when it's ready, not before. Same standard across both.

03

Honesty in everything

We charge fairly, communicate directly, and only ship things we'd use ourselves. Trust isn't claimed, it's earned by doing what you said you would.

04

Craft as a habit

Whether it's a line of code, a renovation detail, or how a room is laid out, we care about the finish. Not because guests always notice, but because we do.

05

Long memory

Our grandparents built homes that lasted generations. We think about our work the same way. What will this look like in ten years?

06

Global perspective

Greek, Zimbabwean, Mozambican, British. Our roots span four countries and three continents. That changes the kind of problems we notice and the kind of answers we reach for.
